Description
Please read the information below before making your payment and booking for a party in George Hay Park. If you have any questions, please WA Zakiyah on 071 425 7989.
- The Parkview Residents’ Association (PRA) maintains the park, invests in infrastructure, and pays staff to help keep the park beautiful. Through an arrangement with City Parks, we may accept donations for small functions and manage bookings.
- If you live or work in Parkview or Greenside East and are not already a PRA member, we would love you to join. Please email info@parkview.org.za for more info.
- Functions with alcohol and/or large gazebos must be booked directly through City Parks. Contact Sello Twala on 011 712 6760 or stwala@jhbcityparks.com.

What is included in the booking?
- Each booking is for three hours and includes one gazebo, four chairs, up to three tables with tablecloths, a small party sign and a dedicated bin.
- There are three designated party areas to choose from. Area 1 and 2 are closer to the toddler swings and toilet block while Area 3 is nearer to the older children’s swings.
- The PRA assistant, Wilber, will arrive 30 minutes before your booking to help set up.
- If you would like additional chairs, décor, catering or jumping castles, we recommend Wilber on 073 450 6875 or Carries Jumping Castles.
- If you book a jumping castle, please indicate this so we can arrange to open the gates for delivery. Wilber will assist with an extension cord, but power is subject to outages. Jumping castles are arranged at your own risk.
How much does it cost?
- PRA members are charged R450. Non-members pay R875. Longer bookings can be arranged at a charge of R100. Bookings are only secure once payment has been made.
- Please note: PRA-member addresses will be checked against our database.
What are the park rules?
- The park is closed between 18:00 and 06:00. Toilets are usually open from 08:00-16:00 on weekdays and 09:00-15:00 on weekends.
- No loud music or braais and please remove your own litter.
- No hawkers or ice-cream sellers are allowed in the park.
If you feel unsafe or are hassled by hawkers, please ask park staff to contact SafeParkview for assistance.
Have a fantastic party!
